Herman Willem Daendels (kelahiran di Hattem, 21 Oktober 1762 – meninggal di Ghana, 2 Mei 1818 pada umur 55 tahun), adalah Gubernur-Jenderal Hindia-Belanda ke-36. Dia memerintah antara tahun 1808 – 1811.

Daendels menerapkan kebijakan kerja paksa. Karena itulah ada jalan panjang di Jawa yang dinamakan Jalan Daendels. Siapa sangka, ada kontroversi di balik sistem kerja paksa Daendels tadi.
