Pernahkah Anda mendengar ada seekor ayam (jago/jantan) berkokok di tengah malam? Terkadang, ayam jantan berkokok di jam-jam yang tidak lazim, misalnya jam 23.00, jam 24.00, atau 01.00 dinihari.

Disebut tidak lazim, karena yang lazim, ayam jantan berkokok di pagi hari, menjelang matahari terbit. Fenomena itu, oleh sebagian orang dimaknai bermacam-macam. Mulai dari ada pencuri, melihat cahaya, atau yang lebih “tidak masuk akal”, sebagia pertanda ada wanita hamil tanpa suami.
